What is LE7EL Contracts?

Scaling Grants & KPIs for DAOs

The first natively compatible Contracts dApp for DAOs & individuals

LE7EL Contracts is one of several native dApps that has been launched on LE7EL.

The dApp allows any Ethereum-address, Multisig or DAO to contractualize, transact and resolve disputes in their own native way.

Users can set both objective and subjective metrics as milestones for a contribution, lock up funds as collateral for each milestone in an escrow smart contract, and let neutral dispute protocols verify whether or not they are met in case there's a dispute. As such, it's a powerful way to scale KPIs for DAOs in a time where spending is exploding, but ROIs are suffering.

We believe the future of contracts for digital goods will be all about on-chain reputation & metrics, pseudonymous parties, programmable collateral and decentralized courts. It won't matter who you are in the real world or the legal framework - the contracts and their enforcing mechanisms will be native and specific to global digital jurisdictions; the different blockchain networks and their courts.

Ultimately, this new primitive should significantly help scale the development of web3 native products and organizations.

Can you list some of the features?

Sure, here goes some of them:

  • Several milestones

  • USDC, USDT, DAI as payment options (any ERC20 could be added)

  • Contract publishing on-chain for Sign&Fund, or off-chain as shareable draft for discussion

  • Partial releases (e.g. release a % upfront before work starts)

  • Custom settlements/disputes (e.g. parties register x released, y refunded as their claims, instead of all or nothing)

  • DAO vs. DAO, or DAO vs. Ethereum-wallet transactions, w/ delegate support to handle small operations

  • DAOs treated as first class entities technically, so that DAOs can sign either with their delegate (Multisig or Ethereum-wallet) or directly by the DAO address upon a vote

  • Aragon v1 script was developed to let users post batched Approve+Sign&Fund vote directly to the DAO interface in one click (the only option before this was to use Frame wallet which required 2 votes)

  • Gas optimizations by employing off-chain signatures where possible

  • Notifications on per contract basis

  • Anonymous sign-ups w/ Ethereum-wallet instead of email
